With the help of Derek Hennessy, erstwhile enemy turned very good friend, and her normal crew of cohorts, Audrey won’t stop until the threat no longer looms.
I must confess I'm still working on reading through this book and therefore don't know how it's going to end. But from what I've currently read, it's just as fun a ride as the first book in the series.

Knowing things don't add up, and not at all sure how to proceed, Audrey asks for ATF agent Derek Hennessy's help. Having exchanged messages over the last few months (since her other friend, Foster, was cleared of his accused crime), Audrey didn't know who else to turn to and is a bit surprised when Derek rushes forward to help figure things out. There's only one small glitch in everything, she's actually starting to like the steel-eyed and apparently unapproachable man she almost shot during their previous excursions.
In an almost feverish attempt to clear Gretchen's name, Audrey uncovers a new side of Derek that leaves her speechless but wanting to know more. And, with the help of her other friends, including her brother, they rush to find a way to prove Gretchen innocent.

This is a fun story with serious moments that deal with things that aren't necessarily easy for everyone to handle, including issues of abuse, tragedy, and addiction. Amber does give a warning at the beginning of the book to expect these things, and the further warning that some things will be a bit "heavier" than in the previous book. Some of the characters' pasts are quite tragic, but it is all woven into the story in a seamless way that makes the discovery, even if somewhat alarming, a delicious journey to read.
I give it four out of five stars.

or movies. They require a lot of attention for me and it always ends up feeling like
a chore. There's probably only
half a dozen shows I've actually seen every episode of, my favorite being
Chuck.
10. I LOVE true crime. Like in a way that is
maybe slightly unhealthy . I listen to so many
true crime podcasts.
